Something Very Different from Boleo
One of the big surprises for me personally at Intermat earlier this year, was a chance encounter with two very compact and radically different machines from Chinese manufacturer Boleo.
All to often we see Chinese manufacturers copying the designs of long established construction machinery brands and passing them off as their own, however, Boleo, who have apparently been around manufacturing for 20 years are producing compact machines that look very different and have won the prestigious Red Dot Design award for them.
The company only make three machines, the DIWAL X compact ‘ride-on’ tracked skid steer loader, and the ZEWEIT X and ZEWEIT R mini hydraulic excavators, which are 1.2-tonne and 3.5-tonne machines respectively.
These machines certainly have a very futuristic look about them, and certainly looked to be very well-built.
According to the website the machines feature components that are 72% sourced from outside of China, with blue-chip parts coming from Japan, Germany, USA, Italy and Switzerland, including engines from Kubota, Kohler and Yanmar, hydraulic systems from Danfoss, Bondioli & Pavesi, and Hansa-TMP, and electrics from Varta and Bosch, so it’s all good and well-proven gear.
I’m not sure if there are currently any UK dealers for this equipment, but I would be keen to try some of these machines out for a feature in Earthmovers in due course.
