Talking All Things Develon Poolside!

There are some things you just cannot make up in life, like a chance meet up with a construction machinery industry colleague 1000’s of miles away from the UK!

So, here’s the scenario, last week on my holiday in Cyprus, I had popped out the towels on the sunbeds, and taken an early morning walk along the coastline. Then on my return to the pool area, I’m walking up the steps minding my own business when I hear someone shout “Nick, Nick Drew” and to my amazement there in front of me was industry legend Carl Deans of Develon Europe!

This chance meeting led to us chewing the cud about all thing’s digger and Develon related in the pool with a cold drink in hand, on numerous occasions over the coming days, something we both thoroughly enjoyed during our time at the marvellous King Jason hotel in Protaras.

I think its safe to say both Carl and myself are both passionate about heavy machinery and we could have talked about the topic all day everyday if we wanted!

Topics of discussion included the smallest excavator in the Develon range the new 1-tonne class zero tailswing DX10z-7 model, right up to the 100-tonne class DX1000-7 and all sizes in between.

Our chats reminded me of many of the awesome events I have had the pleasure of attending with Develon, (formerly Doosan) over the years, which included most recently, Intermat in Paris. It was great to spend time with Carl and get to know him better, what an absolute gent of a man he is, cheers mate!
